Abstract: This research aims to determine the strategy and find out the factors that influence the development of Anak Sungai Kandi waterfall as an ecotourism location. This research was conducted in Sungai Kelelawar village of Kuantan Singingi regency Riau province from November to December 2016. The type of the research was Survey Research. The data were collected by doing field observation, interview, and literature study to get the data of inhibiting and supporting factors on managing the development of Anak Sungai Kandi waterfall. The result of this research showed that management formation, road access, facilities and promotion were the factors that influence the development of ecotourism in Anak Sungai Kandi waterfall. The strategies that were used to develop Anak Sungai Kandi waterfall are by developing this waterfall as an ecotourism location, community empowerment, promoting through promotional media, constructing infrastructure facilities, increasing the security and improvement of road access to location of Anak Sungai Kandi waterfall.
