Dampak Kawasan Industri Terhadap Perekonomian Masyarakat Kelurahan Lubuk Gaung Kecamatan Sungai Sembilan Kota Dumai

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of industrial development and the positive and negative impacts on the social and economic life of the people of Lubuk Gaung Village Sungai Sembilan District Dumai City. The population of this study was 2,606 Family Heads, who were domiciled in Lubuk Gaung Village, then were randomly drawn from 2,606 Family Heads who lived in Lubuk Gaung Village based on the type of work so that a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using interviews and questionnaires, data analysis methods used in this study using descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that the presence of industrial estates had an impact: 1) in terms of social aspects, the quality of education was getting better, health insurance was also getting better. As well as development projects to support community activities, 2) positive impacts on the Lubuk Gaung sub-district community such as from an economic perspective, namely increasing income, increasing people's living standards, increasing people's purchasing power, opening jobs, reducing unemployment and creating business opportunities. Only a small portion of the negative impact of uneven transportation allowances, different levels of welfare, economic income is not evenly distributed to the socio-economic life of the local community, and the environmental impact arising from industrial activity.
