Penentuan Nilai Suseptibilitas Magnetik Air Muara Sungai Siak Sebagai Fungsi Jarak Menggunakan Metode Quincke

Research in determining the magnetic susceptibility of estuary water of the Siak River, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province as a function of the distance toward in been carried out. Samples were collected for four points with a range of 700 meters. The method used is the Quincke method. The purpose of this study is to measure the salinity, density and magnetic susceptibility of liquids. The results showed that the salinity of the fluid obtained was in the interval of 10.3 ‰ to 13.6 ‰ which means it was in the pleo-meshohaline group. The magnetic susceptibility of the liquid obtained is at intervals - 9.07 x 10-6 to -1.518 x 10-5 belonging to the diamagnetic material. The results showed that the value of salinity, density and magnetic susceptibility of the sample increase as the distance toward the sea increasing. The highest value of salinity, density and magnetic susceptibility is at the point of sample location one (S-1), namely with salinity of 13.6 ‰, density of 1009 kg / m3, and magnetic susceptibility of -1,518 x 10-5.
