Pengaruh Ekspor Kelapa Segar Dan Kelapa Kering Terhadap Industri Kelapa (Studi Kasus : Provinsi Riau)

The fact that Indonesia is one of the largest producer of coconuts, has not been able to make Indonesia as a superior country in the coconut industry yet. This study raises the problem of exports of coconut raw materials which are fresh coconut in a large number and desiccated coconut which shows fluctuations. The case study of this research is Riau Province as the largest producer of coconut in Indonesia. The coconut areas continue to decrease followed by the reduce of production, with the amount of fresh coconut exports in large numbers causing the coconut industry has short of coconut raw material. The author analyzes the various effects that can result from the fluctuation of fresh and desiccated coconut exports towards the coconut industry to produce various coconut products.
The data in this study were obtained from the Government Service Offices, books, journals, thesis, articles, Government official website and other research that support the hypothesis. The author used Nation-State level analyze, and the research is using Liberalism perspective, Competitive Advantage theory, and is supporting by the concept of International Economic Cooperation. The author did research and interviews to several related agencies and observations from the official government website related to research.
Based on the results from analyzing of the author, it can be concluded that the export activities of fresh coconut and desiccated coconut have negative effect on the coconut industry in Riau Province. The coconut industries are difficult to produce various product of coconut that has higher selling value, the number of coconut industry has declined and the competitive point of coconut industry is low. This research shows that an integrative partnership is needed between coconut farmer, coconut entrepreneurs (coconut processing factories) and the government to improve the condition of the coconut industry in.
