Hasil Tangkapan Sampingan (Bycatch) Pada Pengoperasian Alat Tangkap Mini Trawl Di Perairan Bagan Siapiapi Kabupaten Rokan Hilir Provinsi Riau
The mouth of the Rokan River is waters that are rich in fish and shrimp.
Shrimp production in Rokan Hilir Regency in 2019 reached 201,764 tons. At most
62.55% of them were from tiger shrimp (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis), 14.73% from
mantis shrimp (Harpiosquilla raphidea), 11.46% white shrimp (Metapenaeus
eboracencis) and 11.25% from apollo shrimp ( Metapenaeopsis palmensis), the
main problem in mini trawl fisheries is the ineffectiveness of this fishing gear
against the catch so that the bycatch (bycatch) that is caught is much greater than
that of shrimp as a target species. which is dumped into the sea either alive or
dead. The process of disposal of bycatch can cause a reduction in the stock of
target species and non-target species that have economic value and can disrupt
ecological processes in the bottom of the water.
This study aims to analyze the continuity of the mini trawl fishing gear
business seen from the catch aspect (main catch and bycatch) and also the
prospect of economic value of the mini trawl fishing effort in Bagan Siapiapi
waters. The research carried out in September 2019 in Bagan Siapiapi waters,
Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this
research is a survey method, namely conducting direct interviews, in addition to
conducting interviews and interviews.
The main catch of the mini trawl fishing gear is red shrimp (Parapenaeopsis
sculptilis). In the overall fishing operation using mini trawl during the study, the
percentage of main catch was 82.60% (taisl) or 44.89% (weight) of the total catch.
The percentage of main catch (main catch) is greater than the percentage of
bycatch and waste (bycatch and discard). The percentage of bycatch is 12.75%
(tail) and 52.62% (weight). The percentage of catch that is discarded is 4.65%
(tail) and 2.50% (weight). The bycatch obtained during the study amounted to
1267 individuals (12.75%) with a total weight of 177 kg (52.62%) consisting of 5
species, namely: gulamah (Johnuis sp.), Flatfish (Pseudorhombus), rays (Dasyatis
sp), lomek (Harpodon neherous) and spines (Arius thalassinus). The percentage
of bycatch was dominated by gulamah with a total of 785 tails (7.90%) and a
weight of 106 kg (31.51%). While the lowest percentage of bycatch is stingray
with 5 tails (0.04%) and 3 kg (0.89%) weight. The main catch (main catch) of red
shrimp has an average length of 11.24 cm with a level of 2.8 (11.24 ± 2.8). The
bycatch of the gulamah species has an average length of 14.88 cm with a level of
3.4 (14.88 ± 3.4), an average of 21.67 cm with an average stedev of 1.9 (21, 67 ±
1.9), stingrays had an average of 23.66 cm with a standard of 1.1 (23.66 2,1), the
xi
average length of lomek is 19.55 cm with a level of 3.1 (19.55 ± 3.1), and the
catch (discard) of crab species has an average length of 6.1 cm with a level of 0 ,
6 (6.1 ± 0.6), sea urchins averaging 5.99 cm with a stedev of 0.6 (5.99 ± 0.6), an
average of 16.97 cm with a mean of 4.6 ( 16.97 ± 4.6), starfish mean 7.24 cm with
a mean of 1.3 (7.24 ± 1.3).
