Penentuan Sifat Magnetik Dan Struktur Partikel Oksida Besi Pasir Pantai Sunur Pariaman Sumatera Barat Disintesis Menggunakan Teknik Ball Milling Dua Tahap
Iron oxide nanoparticle is particle with a diameter between 1-100 nanometers. The iron oxide of natural sand consists of magnetite (Fe3O4), hematite (α-Fe2O3), or maghemite (γ-Fe2O3). The aims of this study is to prepare magnetic nanoparticles from Sunur Beach sand Pariaman district West Sumatera using a two-stage ball milling technique and determine their magnetic and structural properties. The structural and magnetic phases of nanoparticles were studied using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) technique. The elemental composition of the sample was analyzed using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Spectroscopy. The results show that the elemental composition of magnetic particles such as Fe increases with increasing milling ball size, while the elemental composition of nonmagnetic particles such as silicon decreases. The result also confirms that the magnetic phase of the sample is magnetite (Fe3O4). However, some other phases including SiO2 and FeTiO3 were also detected in the diffraction pattern. This indicates that the sample is not purely magnetite.
