Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Bakau Minyak (Rhizopora Apiculata) Terhadap Kadar Trigliserida Tikus Putih (Rattus Novergicus) Aterosklerotik
Mangrove fruit is a type of mangrove plant that contains antioxidant
flavonoids. Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds have a role as a antioxidant.
Apart from being antioxidant, flavonoids also have a role in improving lipid
profile levels in hyperlipidemic condition. The purpose of this study was to
analyze the effect of mangrove (Rhizopora apiculata) extracts on the triglyceride
levels of atherosclerotic rats (Rattus novergicus). Sixteen male Rattus novergicus
were used in this study which was divided into 3 treatment groups: standard diet
(K1), high cholesterol diet (K2) and high cholesterol diet and mangrove fruit
extract (K3). The results showed that there was no significant difference between
the triglyceride levels in high cholesterol diet and mangrove fruit extract group
and standard diet and high cholesterol diet groups (p>0.05). So it can be
concluded from this study that there is no significant difference in the triglyceride
levels of atherosclerotic rats after giving mangrove extract.
