Pertumbuhan Stek Daun Jambu Air ( Syzygium Aqueum (Burm.F.) Alston ) Dengan Pemberian Madu Dan Air Kelapa

Water apple (Syzygium aquaeum (Burm.F.) Alston) is a plant that has
properties in healing various diseases because it contains chemical compounds of
flavonoids, phenolics, and tannins. One way to propagate S.aquaeum is by leaf
cuttings. Vegetative propagation by leaf cuttings allows more seedlings to be
obtained than through stem or shoot cuttings. Efforts to increase the success of
cuttings are by using honey and coconut water because besides being cheap they
also contain natural chemical compounds that can replace the role of growth
regulators. This study aims to know the effect of honey and coconut water
concentrations, determining the best concentration of honey and coconut water on
the growth of leaf cuttings S.aquaeum. This study used a randomized block design
(RBD) with 8 treatments, namely control, immersion in water, 25% honey, 50%
honey, 75% honey, 25% coconut water, 50% coconut water and 75% coconut
water. The parameters observed were percentage of live cuttings, percentage of
root formation, number of roots, root length, and leaf morphology. The research
data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that best treatment for root
growth of leaf cuttings S.aquaeum is 25% honey with a percentage of 100% root
formation with 21.4 of roots. Followed by 75% coconut water treatment with
100% percentage of root formation and 18.4 of roots.
