Penggunaan Limbah Abu Ampas Tebu Sebagai Filler Pada Campuran Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (Ac-Wc)
ABSTRACT
Pavement construction materials that are not properly planned will result in a
decrease in the ability of the pavement to accept traffic loads. Road pavement
materials consist of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, binder and/without filler. The
commonly used filler material is portland cement which is relatively expensive. The
relatively high price is one of the factors to look for alternative fillers that are more
economical, such as the utilization of bagasse waste. Utilization of bagasse waste
which is processed into ash/fine powder can improve the quality of the mixture,
because it has pozzolanic properties like portland cement and can reduce the
amount of bagasse waste that exists. The purpose of this study was to determine the
effect of using bagasse ash as a filler in the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course
mixture. The research was carried out in 4 stages, namely the first stage of testing
the properties of aggregate, asphalt and filler. The second stage determines the
optimum asphalt content in the mixture with a design asphalt content of 4.5%;
5.0%; 5.5%; 6.0% and 6.5% using 3 samples of specimens for each asphalt content
and filler variation. The filler used is 2% of the total weight of the aggregate, with
variations in the combination of bagasse ash and portland cement of 25%-75%;
50%-50%; 75%-25% and 100%-0%. The third stage is to perform Marshall test
and volumetric test of the specimen. The fourth stage is to analyze and draw
conclusions from the results of the tests that have been carried out. This study uses
the general specifications of Bina Marga 2018. The test results show that the
Optimal Asphalt Content (KAO) is only in variations of 25%-75% and 50%-50%
with KAO values of 6.35% and 6.30%. The other two variations do not produce
KAO values because they do not meet specifications. At the optimum asphalt
content value of 6.35%, the stability 861,90 kg; flow 3,1 mm; VIM 4,17%; VMA 17,80%;
VFA 76,57% dan MQ 275,32 kg/mm. At the optimum asphalt content value of 6.30%,
the stability 842,75 kg; flow 3,2 mm; VIM 4,42%; VMA 17,84%; VFA 75,20% dan
MQ 266,331 kg/mm
