Pengaruh Rasio Penambahan Air Terhadap Produksi Biogas Menggunakan Metode Wet Anaerobic Digestion Dari Sampah Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
Solid Waste is one of the problems faced by Indonesia, including the
campus environment. The waste generation of Bina Widya Campus, Riau
University is 815.59 Kg/day, so it is necessary to use such as converting it into
biogas alternative energy. This study aims to analyze the effect of the addition of
water ratio on biogas production from the Bina Widya campus waste, Riau
University using the wet anaerobic digestion method. The ratio of organic waste
with the addition of water that is varied is A1 (100%:50%), A2 (100%:100%), A3
(100%:150%) with the addition of EM4 (Effective Microorganism 4) as a starter.
5Kg of organic waste was prepared with pre-treatment chopped and then added
water based on variations and 9% EM4 of the total weight of the substrate. Each
variation was measured water content and pH before and after anaerobic
digestion as well and measuring the temperature and volume of biogas every day
for 28 days. The results showed that the highest biogas production was found in
the A2 (100%:100%) variation of 14 mL and the highest biogas production/day
was found in the A2 and A3 variations, which was 1.5 mL/day. The results of this
study conclude that the Bina Widya campus waste, Riau University has the
potential to be converted into biogas alternative energy to reduce dependence on
fossil energy sources.
