Second Post Brightness Effect Terhadap Chlorine Dioxide Consumption Pada D0 Stage Bleaching Process Fiberline #2 Pt Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper
ABSTRACT
Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) in pulping is very expensive, with the most use in D0
stage bleaching process, which is ±70% of ClO2 used; so its use is optimized by
controlling second post brightness. This report discusses second post brightness
effect on D0 stage’s ClO2 consumption, which aims to determine second post
brightness effect’s magnitude on D0 stage’s ClO2 consumption and determine the
most influential factors on second post brightness. This report’s observation were
taken by collecting operational data from oxygen delignification washing process
to D0 stage bleaching process from June to September. Then, the data were
classified based on Kraft pulp products; cooking results >80 cooks/day;
production rate >3.600 ADT/d. Furthermore, independent variable were sorted
and averaged based on ±0.5 dependent variable’s value. Then, the data were
analyzed using scatter chart. After analysis, it is known that second post
brightness has a very strong correlation to ClO2 consumption with R2 0,8512 for
line 1 and 0,9152 for line 2, and the relationship between the two parameters was
inversely proportional. Furthermore, the parameters that most influence the
second post brightness based on the pareto chart were second post dilution factor,
pre O2 brightness, second post (roll press 1 and 2) outlet consistency, and second
post kappa.
