Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Interaktif Materi Segiempat Dan Segitiga Berbasis Model Discovery Learning Untuk Memfasilitasi Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematis Siswa Kelas VII SMP/Mts
One of the objectives of learning mathematics in the 2013 curriculum is to emphasize the mathematical understanding ability. Mathematical understanding ability needs to be instilled in students to develop an understanding of mathematics learning activities and increase students’ mathematical knowledge. Mathematical understanding ability is also one of the objectives of each material taught by the teacher. However, the reality is that the mathematical understanding ability of students in Indonesia is still low. This is supported by the results of several previous studies which showed that the results of the analysis of students' mathematical understanding ability tests on the material of quadrilateral and triangular were low. The low mathematical understanding ability of students can also be seen from the results of the 2019 National Examination (UN) that the average math UN for SMP/MTs in Indonesia nationally as well as in Riau province and in Kuansing is still below standard (below 55 points). One of the materials tested in the UN is quadrilateral and triangular. The average achievement score for each of these material indicators is still below 55 points.
Efforts to help students so that they can understand a learning material easily is to develop learning media. The use of learning media plays an important role in the learning process, namely in the delivery of messages from the source to the recipient. One type of interesting learning media is interactive learning media. The interactive media referred to in this study are media that combine audio and visual elements in an integrated manner so that students can interact with the media independently or in small groups through their skills and ability levels as well as get feedback from the material presented but still pay attention that students follow a certain sequence coherent and controlled. Interactive media is made with Microsoft Power Point which can be accessed by users via laptops or smartphones. The purpose of the study was to develop interactive learning media for class VII the material of quadrilateral and triangular based on the discovery learning (DL) has been valid and practical to facilitate student’ mathematical understanding ability.
This research is a development research using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The developed interactive learning media contains KD and IPK learning objectives, introduction, materials, sample questions and evaluation questions along with discussion. Data collection techniques used include validation of learning media, student response questionnaires, observations, and interviews. This study involved students of class VIII MTsN 1 Kuansing which consisted of three students of class VIII.2 as one to one test subjects and twelve students of class VIII.1 as small group trial subjects. The results showed that based on expert comments at the expert review stage, interactive media was declared to be very valid with a percentage of , both in terms of language, appearance, content and mathematical understanding ability. From the one to one results, it was found that

the interactive learning media were generally good and could be tested for the
small group stage. Furthermore, the implementation of interactive media at the
small group stage shows the practicality of interactive media is as big as
with very practical criteria. This can be seen from interactive media that
are easy to use by students, easy to read, and students can easily access
interactive media anywhere and anytime, so that these media can be used to
facilitate students’ mathematical understanding ability. However, the research is
only limited to the small group stage because the learning situation and
conditions are still Covid 19 which is not yet optimal if a field test must be carried
out
