Peningkatan Kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skill Peserta Didik Melalui Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Pada Materi Gerak Melingkar Di Kelas X SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru
The research aims to describe the higher order thinking skills of class X students through the application of a problem based learning model. The design used is a quasi-experimental: Posttest only control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X SMAN 12 Pekanbaru for the academic year 2022/2023 with a sample of 72 people consisting of class X MIPA-1 as an experimental class totaling 36 people and class X MIPA-4 as an experimental class totaling 36 people. . The data collection instrument was a HOTS test on circular motion material which consisted of 13 multiple choice questions. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis through the average value of the students' higher order thinking skills and inferential analysis through the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing with the help of the SPSS 26 program. The results showed that the average value of the higher order thinking skills was students in the experimental class (problem based learning model) were better than the control class and there were significant differences in students' higher order thinking skills between the experimental class that applied the problem based learning model and the control class that applied conventional learning.
