ABSTRACT
Traffic accidents result in moral and material losses. As a result, large losses due to accidents, it is necessary to have a study in an effort to improve traffic safety on the highway. In this study, the case was taken on roads in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Secondary data in the form of accident reports was obtained from the Kampar Police Traffic Unit. While the primary data is from traffic conflicts and traffic safety survey. The purpose of this study is to select accident-prone locations based on the results of ranking the highest accident rates, conduct an analysis of safety issues, and provide recommendations for treatment for these locations. Ranking analysis was carried out using accident data for 4 years using the ACF, EPDO method. Two accident-prone locations were chosen, namely Jl Raya Pekanbaru-Teluk Kuantan km 20-21, Jl Raya Pekanbaru-Bangkinang km 31-32. The problem of traffic safety on the Pekanbaru-Kuantan Bay km 20-21 is when accidents occur during the day and night. Rear end accident type, sideswipe, head on. Traffic conflicts slow down one way, change lanes, turn right. Traffic management has no warning signs, unclear road markings, no PJU, no road nails. pavement damage. the recommendations are repairing road pavement, adding PJU, warning signs for accident-prone areas, caution signs, adding road spikes, bridge signs or road narrowing, signs prohibiting entering the right lane, warning signs entering the left lane. At the location of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang road km 31-32 the problem of traffic safety is when accidents occur at night and during the day, types of accidents are head on, sideswipe, rear end, single accidents. Traffic conflicts slow down one way, change lanes, turn right. Traffic management has no warning signs, unclear road markings, no road nails, no PJU. Pavement damage. The recommendations for handling are repairing road damage, repairing road markings, adding road spikes, warning signs for accident-prone areas, caution signs. bridge signs or Bridge Narrowing.
