Analisis Penerapan Prinsip Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (Ispo) Pada Kebun Kelapa Sawit Pola Swadaya Di Kecamatan Bathin Solapan Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
The Indonesian government requires all smallholders to have ISPO
certification by 2025. ISPO certification is currently only carried out by oil palm
plantation companies, while the independent smallholders of ISPO certification is
still rare, the information received by smallholders is still limited and there are
still many obstacles to overcome faced in implementing ISPO certification. This
study aims to: (1) analyze the application of ISPO certification principles and
criteria to self-supporting oil palm plantations in Bathin Solapan District,
Bengkalis Regency. (2) Analyze the challenges faced by self-supporting oil palm
smallholders in Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency in meeting ISPO
certification standards. This study uses a survey method. The sampling technique
was carried out by purposive sampling with 60 respondents as independent oil
palm growers. Data were analyzed descriptively using gap analysis. The results
showed that (1) the application of the principles and criteria for ISPO certification
for oil palm plantations was in the very low category, meaning that the
independent oil palm smallholders in Bathin Solapan District had not fulfilled the
ISPO certification standards, with an average overall score of 40,81%. (2) the
challenge for self-supporting oil palm growers to implement the ISPO standard is
that many smallholders do not know and understand the contents of the ISPO
principles, criteria, indicators and verifiers, financial issues, and lack of support
from local governments, private companies and related agencies to accelerate
acceptance of ISPO certification.
