Analisis Kesuburan Perairan Ditinjau Dari Kandungan Nitrat, Fosfat, Dan Kelimpahan Fitoplankton Di Perairan Pantai Pesisir Selatan, Sumatera Barat

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in February 2023, located in the South Coastal Waters Area, Kanagarian Painan, District IV Jurai, South Pesisir Regency, West Sumatra Province. This study aims to determine and analyze the nitrate and phosphate content and phytoplankton abundance between stations and determine the water fertility level in the South Coast of West Sumatra. The method used in this research is the survey method. The survey method is a method carried out by direct observation, measurement, and sampling in the field, then analyzing nitrate and phosphate samples in the Marine Chemistry Laboratory and identifying phytoplankton samples in the Laboratory, and then describing them descriptively. The results of the analysis of nitrate and phosphate contained in the waters of the South Coastal Coastal Waters, namely the value of nitrate and phosphate concentrations obtained varied at each station, the nitrate concentration obtained from this study ranged from 0.83 - 0.86 mg/l, and phosphate concentrations ranged from 0.72 - 1.23 mg/l. The results of phytoplankton identification found as many as 14 species from the Bacillariophyceae class, with abundance values varying at each station, which ranged from 452.1 - 588.3 ind/l.
