Jenis Dan Kelimpahan Sampah Laut Di Pantai Kecamatan Medang Kampai Kota Dumai Provinsi Riau

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted on the coast of Medang Kampai sub-district, Dumai City, Riau Province. The method used in this study was the observation method, the purpose of this research was to identify the types of marine debris and their abundance in the coast of Medang Kampai district, Dumai City, Riau Province. Sampling was carried out in two stations and each station consisted of 20 transects with a distance of 5 meters at low tide and there were no routine cleaning activities. The results of this study found marine debris in the form of plastic, Styrofoam, rubber, wood, metal, iron, cloth and glass. The most common type of waste found was plastic waste with an amount of 553 units/ha weighing 3,677 grams. Calculation of marine debris abundance obtained the highest results at station II observation II, namely 734 units/ha, while the lowest abundance was found at station I observation II, namely 446 units/ha. The highest average abundance per observation was in observation II, which was 720 units per/ha compared to observation I, with an average abundance of 462 units per/ha.
