Allergic Rhinitis is a symptomatic disorder of the nose induced by an IgE-mediated inflammation after allergen exposure. The prevalence of allergic rhinitisdiffers between regions due to differences in the risk factor and allergens involved. The ISAAC questionnaire is a standard instrument for screening and identifying risk factors for allergic rhinitis . The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the incidence and risk factors for allergic rhinitis in junior high school students aged 13-14 years at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. This study used analitycal research with cross sectional approach. This study found 146 people out of 288 respondents experienced allergic rhinitis symptoms based on the ISAAC questionnaire. Female (31,25%) experienced more symptoms than men (19,4%), respondents who had a history of exposure to air pollution (31,60%), cigarette smoke (29,16%), kitchen smoke (1,04%) and keeping a cat or dog as a pet (24,65%). Gender was significantly related to allergic rhinitis incidence, while other risk factor were not related to allergic rhinitis incidence.
