Analisis Kelimpahan Dan Distribusi Mikroplastik Pada Air Dan Ikan Di Sungai Sail Kota Pekanbaru, Riau
ABSTRACT
Microplastics are generally defined as synthetic polymers that are under 5 mm in size. Microplastics that accumulate in water will have a negative impact on aquatic ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the abundance and types of microplastics in water and digestive organs in the Sail River, Pekanbaru. The Sail River is a tributary that will empty into the Siak River. High activity along the river and the presence of settlements are thought to be microplastic distribution routes to the river. The research location was determined by purposive sampling on three segments that have different activities, consisting of the Upper, Middle, and Lower Rivers. Water samples and fish digestion were analyzed at the Chemical Oceanography Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, University of Riau. The abundance of microplastics obtained was based on three segments, which ranged from 92 to 296 particles in water. The abundance of microplastics in Clarais (catfish) 1 was 10 particles, Clarais (catfish) 2 was 6 particles, Chitala (belida) 1 was 5 particles, and Chitala (belida) 2 was 6 particles. The types of microplastics found in this study were fragments, fibers, and films. A statistical analysis was carried out, namely the Pearson correlation test between the abundance value of microplastics and environmental parameters (temperature, pH, and flow velocity). The results obtained from the Pearson correlation test showed that temperature and flow velocity were significant for the value of microplastic abundance (p
