Pengaruh Lama Waktu Perendaman Hormon Tiroksin (T4) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Kelulushidupan Larva Ikan Jelawat (Leptobarbus Hoevenii)
ABSTRACT
Jelawat fish is a food fish that has high economic value and is popular with many people. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out cultivation engineering that can increase the growth of jelawat fish to meet community needs. This research aims to determine the effect of the best thyroxine soaking time used to stimulate the growth and survival of jelawat fish larvae. This research was carried out at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Riau University in March-April 2023 for 40 days. The test fish used were 360 5-day-old jelawat fish larvae that had run out of egg yolk. This research used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. These treatments are P0 (not soaked in thyroxine hormone), P18 (soaked in thyroxine hormone for 18 hours), P24 (soaked in thyroxine hormone for 24 hours), P30 (soaked in thyroxine hormone for 30 hours). The results of the research showed that the thyroxine hormone was able to have a very real influence on the growth and survival of jelawat fish larvae. Further test results from the best thyroxine hormone immersion were found in P24 with absolute length growth of 3.96 ± 0.03cm, absolute weight growth of 0.88 ± 0.00g, specific growth rate of 12.69 ± 0.01%/day , and survival 93.33 ± 0.84%. The behavior of jelawat fish larvae that were soaked in the thyroxine hormone were more active in swimming, formed a group and were very aggressive in taking food than those that were not soaked in the thyroxine hormone.
