Prarancangan Pabrik Fenol Dari Benzen Dan Propilen Proses Uop Lcc Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi (T-101)
ABSTRACT
Phenol or hydroxybenzen is an organic compound that has one hydroxyl group attached to an aromatic ring with the molecular formula C6H5OH. Phenol is one of the intermediate materials needed for downstream industries and advanced intermediate industries including as raw material for the manufacture of bisphenol-A used in the plastics industry, raw material for the caprolactant industry used in the manufacture of nylon and raw materials in the manufacture of phenolic resins which are widely used in the sandpaper industry and the wood industry. The main raw materials used in the manufacture of phenol by the UOP LCC process are benzene and propylene. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours/day with a capacity of 45,000 tons/year to be established in the city of Dumai, Riau. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organization system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The design of the main equipment in this plant is the Distillation Tower (T-101) which functions to separate propylene that is not used up reacting from the Reactor output mixture (R-101). The distillation tower (T-101) used is a sieve tray type operated at 1 atm pressure and 103 ⁰C temperature. Economic analysis in this plant design shows that this plant is feasible to establish. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 29%, Pay Back Period (PBP) for 1.5 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 80.8%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.75%.
