Prarancangan Pabrik Tersier Butyl Alkohol Dari Isobuten Dan Air Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi (Dc-101)
ABSTRACT
Tertiary Butyl Alcohol is one of the four isomers of butanol which is also known as Tertiary Butyl Alcohol, 2-Methyl-2-Propanol, Trimethyl Carbinol, often abbreviated as TBA an has the molecular formula C4H9OH. The main raw materials used in making Tertiary Butyl Alcohol are isobutene and water. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours per day, with a capacity of 330,000 tons per year to be established in the city of Cilegon, Banten. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company with a line and staff organization system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment in this plant is the Distillation Tower (DC-101), which functions to separate Tertiary Butyl Alcohol which is the top product and the bottom product. This Distillation Tower is operated at a pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 95 ⁰C. The economic analysis in this plant design shows that this plant is feasible to establish. Break Event Point (BEP) value of 48%, Pay Back Period (PBP) for 3 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 29.34%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.71%.
