Analisis Kandungan Bahan Organik Pada Sedimen Di Perairan Pantai Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in April 2023, the research location was in the waters of South Coastal Beach, West Sumatera Province. The research objectives were to determine the sediment organic matter content and analyze the sediment type of each stasion. The method used is a survey method with sampling at 4 stations and each station is divided into three sampling points with a distance 0-20 cm. the process of analyzing organic matter is to dry sediment samples at 1050 C for 15 minutes, then cool with a desiccator. Furthermore, the sample weight (Mucha et al. 2016). Analysis of sediment fractions using two methods, namely the sieving method and the pipette method. The result showed that the highest sediment organic matter content in the South coastal waters was 3,81% in residential arears and the lowest was 2,62% in the tourism area due to the presence of piles of rocks that block the entry of land organic matter into the sea. Based on the analysis of the Sheppard triangle, the sediment franction found at all research stations is gravel, gravelly sand, muddy sand, and sandy gravel.
