Studi Peranan Satwas SDKP Sibolga Terhadap Upaya Pencegahan Dan Pengawasan Illegal Fishing Di Perairan Sibolga

Abstract
Sibolga, the main producer of fish in North Sumatra, experienced a decrease in fish production from 2012-2017 due to illegal fishing, which resulted in a decrease in non-tax state revenue (PNBP) and foreign exchange. Whether the existence of the Sibolga SDKP Satwas can overcome illegal fishing in Sibolga Waters. The research method used a survey method involving various parties including SDKP employees, supervisisory groups, fishermen, crew members, ship captains and ship owners. Administrative data and secondary data from Satwas SDKP were used in the SWOT analysis. The results showed that the role of to the abudance of fish resources that made the target of foreign fishermen, the limited ability of local fishermen to utilize the potential of the sea and limited supervision due to the lack of patrol boats.
