Layanan Akademik Menggunakan Metode Forward Chaining Berbasis Aplikasi Chatbot (Studi Kasus: Smk Negeri 2 Pekanbaru)
A chatbot is a digital communication application that has the potential to facilitate users in finding information. The limitations of oral communication have been a challenge, posing difficulties for the academic institution at SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru in obtaining information such as scholarships, internship programs, e-reports, and more. The research objective is to design and develop a chatbot-based application using forward chaining method to provide information about academic services. This method works by starting with known facts and trying to reach conclusions or final results using logical rules or existing knowledge. The system design utilizes the Unified Modeling Language, including Use Case Diagram, Class Diagram, and Sequence Diagram, implemented using PHP programming language and MySQL database. The research includes 8 categories and 34 answers from these categories, which will be incorporated into the application system using the forward chaining reasoning technique. The results of this research show that the forward chaining method has been successfully applied to the academic service chatbot, providing output in the form of answers based on the collected facts.
