PUBLIC RELA TIONS FUNCTIONS IN SERVICES CLIENTS TO BUILD POSITIVE IMAGE OF PT.
BANKRIAU

Bank Rian is bank property of Government Riau province, governmental of sub-province /
Riau province town and Riau Archipelago province. As a government bank, Bank Riau continue to
experience of improvement in number its client. Make-Up of the amount of clients will take place
continuous if supported by service system able to create clients satisfaction. Quality of service very
influencing in forming positive image of PT. Bank Riau. Public relations as management function have
full responsibility in overcoming all problems affecting to company image, included in overcoming
problems related to clients service.
This research aims to know public relations function in clients services at PT. Bank Riau,
knowing supplementary factor and resistor in public relations activity execution related to clients
services, and also know importantly of departmental or publicity department in clients services to
build positive image of PT. Bank Riau.
This Research represent descriptive research with approach qualitative that is depiction
exhaustively about accurate process or situation and data collecting pursuant to fact exist in field
observation, dialogue and documentation. Subject election by sampling puposive consist of 8 (eight)
subjects, namely 1 (one) subject from publicity department (key informant),2 (two) subjects from Bank
Riau employees who related to clients service (Customer Service staff and Card Centre staff), and also
5 (five) subjects from Bank Riau clients. Technical data analyse use interaktif analyse models which
consist of data reduction, data presentation, and withdrawal conclusion / verification with data audit
technic authenticity taking part in lengthening and triangulation.
Result of this research for example, ( a) public relations have run its function in clients
service namely in making suggestion box, number queue up clients, arrangement park laboring is
equal to Dinas Perhubungan, and book socialization " service standard"; ( b) domicile public
relations which under Common Director facilitate publicity department submit all problems related to
clients service, but the lack of the understanding of company management for the importance of
existence of public relations in clients services become resistor factor in public relations function
execution; ( c) publicity department play a part important to build positive image of Bank Riau.
