The Effect Of Rainfall And Wind On Fishing For Fishermen At Bungus Port, West Sumatera

This research was carried out in February-March 2023 at Samudra Bungus Port, West Sumatera. The aim is to determine the effect of rainfall and wind on fish catches for fishermen at Samudra Bungus Harbor, West Sumatera. Rainfall and wind data were obtained from BMKG Bayur Bayur, Padang, while fish catch data was obtained from PPS Bungus staff, West Sumatera. The methods used in this research activity ware survey methods and quantitative analysis. The results of this research show that rainfall in the study area ranges from 0.01-15.4 mm, the average wind speed ranges from 1.0-1.6 m/s while the catch ranges from 334,983-560,145 kg. The results of the analysis between rainfall and wind on fish catches do not have a very strong correlation because based on the results of interviews, fishermen carry out sailing trips or fishing trips where fished trips are carried out for more than one day, sometimes even more than a month, so it is necessary Additional data for subsequent research is in the form of fished trip data and data on ships departing per trip.
