Analysis Of Sedimentation Rate On The Coast Of Selat Baru Bengkalis Regency, Riau
Analysis of sedimentation rate on the coast of Selat Baru, Bengkalis Regency, Riau. This research was conducted in March 2023 at the Mouth of Jangkang River, Tourist Beach, and the Mouth of Liong River, Bengkalis Regency, Riau. The method used in this research is a survey method, involving observation and sample collection conducted at the research location. Based on the results of field sample collection and analysis conducted on the samples in the Marine Chemistry Laboratory. According to the Sheppard triangle, it is identified that at stations 1 and 3, the substrate type is muddy sand, while at station 2, the substrate type is sand. This is due to the weak currents in the research area, causing suspended sediments to settle easily. The sedimentation rate at station 1 is 97.42 cm/year, at station 2 is 80.86 cm/year, while at station 3 is 103.2 cm/year. It can be observed that station 3 has a higher sedimentation rate compared to the others due to the frequent ferry activities at the International port and local fishing vessel activities, making it a significant source of high sediment input.
