Inventarisasi Dekapoda Di Sungai Katoman Desa Ranah Baru Kecamatan Kampar Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Deillia Rusmirani / 1904112821 - Nama Orang;

The Katoman River is a shallow river with a sandy and gravelly bottom, and slow-flowing water that supports the life of decapods. This research aims to identify the types of decapods living in the that river, as there is currently no information available on the decapod species found in the river. Samplings were conducted once a week for a month from July to August 2023, using crab traps. Based on the research findings, there are three decapod species in the river, namely Parathelphusa pardus, Macrobrachium mammillodactylus, and Cherax quadrinacatus. P. pardus is characterized by the presence of spotted patterns similar to those of a leopard, scattered on its carapace and chelae. Its carapace has a convex shape, with 2 gill spines and short walking legs. M. mammillodactylus is identified by its scaphocerite, which is shorter than the rostrum's length, dorsal rostrum with 9-11 teeth, and 3-6 teeth on the ventral side, as well as mammilo setae on the dactylus. C. quadrinacatus has four rostral carinae on the cephalon resembling hills, a broad aerola, and three hepatic spines on its carapace. C. quadrinacatus and M. mammillodactylus may belonged to the same niche and they compete for space and food. It seems that the lobster become dominant as its number was almost double than the shrimp.
