Uji Aktivitas Antimikroba Mikroba Endofit Yang Diisolasi Dari Tanamanmangga Mempelam (Mangifera Laurina Blume.) Terhadap Mikroba Patogen Kulit
Infection due to skin pathogenic microbes is a public health problem in Indonesia. Cases of resistance of skin pathogenic microbes to synthetic antibiotics make infections difficult to treat. Mango mempelam (Mangifera laurina Blume.) contains phytochemical compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, tannins and terpenoids which have antimicrobial potential. Endophytic microbes are non-pathogenic microorganisms that live in plant tissue and can produce the same metabolite compounds as their host plants. This study aimed to test the antimicrobial activity of endophytic microbes from mango pelam (M. laurina Bl.) against Staphylococcus epidermidis, Propionibacterium acnes and Candida albicans. The results of the antimicrobial activity test of the endophytic fungal isolate M. laurina using the agar cutting diffusion method obtained isolate JDM5 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against the bacteria S. epidermidis (10,81 ± 0,30 mm) and P. acnes (9,91 ± 0,51 mm), while isolate JBM4 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against C. albicans (5,77 ± 0,20 mm). The results of the antimicrobial activity test of the crude extract of the endophytic fungus isolate M. laurina using the disc diffusion method showed that the crude extract of isolate JDM6 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against S. epidermidis (8,28 ± 0,72 mm), the crude extract of isolate JBM4 and JBM5 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against P. acnes (3,63 ± 0,06 mm and 3,24 ± 0,08 mm) and the crude extract of isolate JBM4 showed the highest antimicrobial activity against C. albicans (9,42 ± 0,24 mm).
Key findings: Antimicrobial activity, Candida albicans, endophytic microbes, Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus epidermidis.
