Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Terintegrasi Discovery Learning Berbantuan Sparkol Videoscribe Untuk Pembelajaran Biologi Kelas Xi Sma
The use of information and communication technology in the field of
education is starting to experience a significant increase. The use of information and
communication technology can support learning which is now a necessity to increase
the effectiveness of learning for both teachers and students in order to improve the
quality of education through learning. Therefore, teachers should be able to innovate
and be creative in designing good learning. However, there are several obstacles faced
in the learning process at school. Based on the results of the pre-survey that has been
carried out, the learning media used has not varied, causing students to express a lack
of enthusiasm for learning and feel bored with the media used. Lack of enthusiasm and
boredom can cause students to not be actively involved in learning. Apart from that,
there are concepts of biological material which contain sub-discussions that are
complicated to explain and cannot be seen directly by students. This material is the
Human Circulatory System. Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate learning
media and learning models so that students are actively involved in learning and the
subject matter can be understood well by students. If students are actively involved in
learning, it will be easier to understand the subject matter through appropriate learning
media. The aim of this research is to determine the level of validity and practicality of
the integrated learning media Discovery Learning assisted by Sparkol VideoScribe for
biology learning for class XI high school. The material topics developed are at KD 3.5
and 4.5.
This development research was carried out using the ADDIE model. This
development research only reaches the development stage. This research procedure
begins by conducting curriculum analysis, student analysis and lesson material analysis.
Then proceed with the design stage and learning media development stage. This
development resulted in 4 integrated learning video media Discovery Learning assisted
by Sparkol VideoScribe. The results of the development were further validated by 3
validators, a phase I limited trial for sixth semester students of the Biology Education
Study Program, FKIP, Riau University, and a phase II limited trial for class XI students
at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The instruments used in data collection were
ii
validation sheets and response questionnaires. Research data was collected through
filling out validation sheets by validators and response questionnaires by students and
pupils. Validators and respondents provided impressions and suggestions for improving
the learning media being developed.
Based on the research results, the results of the validation of the integrated
learning media Discovery Learning assisted by Sparkol VideoScribe for biology
learning for class XI high school were very valid with a validation score of 3.60. The
results of the phase I limited trial on students got an average score of 3.57 in the very
practical category and the phase II limited trial on students got an average score of 3.50
in the very practical category. The values obtained in this research process indicate that
the integrated learning media Discovery Learning assisted by Sparkol VideoScribe for
biology learning for class XI high school was well developed by researchers. Learning
media can help students understand the circulatory system material which has abstract
material concepts and cannot be seen directly by students. Sparkol VideoScribe can
illustrate complex material in learning through a combination of images, sound, music
and an attractive design.
The conclusion of this research is that the integrated learning media
Discovery Learning assisted by Sparkol VideoScribe for biology learning for class XI
SMA which was developed is very valid and very practical so that it can be used as a
learning media for students. Recommendations for further research can continue this
research at the development stage, namely implementation and evaluation to be able to
see the effectiveness of using human circulatory system learning media in the learning
process.
