Perkecambahan Dari Biji Cipadessa Baccifera Pada Media Tanam Berbeda Dalam Upaya Konservasi Tumbuhan Koleksi Kebun Raya Bogor
Bogor Botanical Garden is one of the places ex situ conservation that has many rare plants as collections. One of the plants in the garden is Cipadessa baccifera. Until now, no new saplings have been found in the Bogor Botanical Garden other than the mother tree. It is suspected that propagation of this plant is difficult due to less than optimal planting media. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on suitable media for seed germination of Cipadessa baccifera so that protection can be carried out for this plant species. The purpose of this study was to determine the germination of C. baccifera seeds on various planting media and determine the best media for C. baccifera seed germination. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely husk charcoal, malang sand, topsoil, and a mixture of husk charcoal, malang sand, and topsoil in a ratio of 1:1:1 which was repeated 5 times, resulting in 20 experimental units. Based on the research, it was found that the optimal media for plumula emergence was the husk charcoal media with an average germination time of 15 days after planting. The best germination media is using malang sand media with germination percentage and normal germination percentage of 88%. The use of malang sand in this study is important for the propagation and conservation of Cipadessa baccifera.
Key findings: Bogor Botanical Garden, Cipadessa baccifera, germination, media types, recalcitrant.
