Keanekaragaman Diatom Epifitik Secara Vertikal Pada Batang Rhizophora Sp. Dan Pelepah Nypa Sp. Di Perairan Kundur Kabupaten Karimun Kepulauan Riau
This research was conducted in the waters of Kundur Island, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province. This research uses a survey method, with the aim of determining the type, abundance and diversity of epiphytic diatoms vertically on the stems of Rhizophora sp. and fronds of Nypa sp. Sampling stations were determined directly using purposive sampling. To see differences in the abundance of epiphytic diatoms on the stems of Rhizophora sp. and fronds of Nypa sp. using one way ANOVA and LSD tests, as well as the Independent Samples T-test. The results of the research show that there are 11 species of epiphytic diatoms, with details of 9 species from the Bacillariophyceae class, including Navicula sp., Pleurosigma sp., Pinnularia sp., Melosira sp., Synedra sp., Nitzschia sp., Coscinodiscus sp., Amphora sp., and Skeletonema costatum. Apart from that, from the Coscinodiscophycidae class, the species Isthmia sp. was found, and from the Bacillariophyceae class, the species Chaetoceros sp. was found. The higher abundance of epiphytic diatoms was found on the fronds of Nypa sp. with an average value of 17,822.94 ind/cm2 and a lower abundance found in the stems of Rhizophora sp. with an average of 13,884.16 ind/cm2. There were significant differences in the abundance of epiphytic diatoms between stations on the stems of Rhizophora sp. with further test details, it shows that there are real differences between stations II and III, while between stations I and II and between stations I and III there is no significant difference. Furthermore, there were no significant differences in the abundance of epiphytic diatoms between stations on the fronds of Nypa sp. There were no differences in the abundance of epiphytic diatoms vertically on the stems of Rhizophora sp. and fronds of Nypa sp. The T-test results showed significant values and there were differences in the abundance of epiphytic diatoms vertically between Rhizophora sp. stems and fronds of Nypa sp. The diversity of epiphytic diatoms is in the medium category on the stems of Rhizophora sp. and fronds of Nypa sp. in waters of Kundur Island, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.
