Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Bahari Di Pantai Kata, Kota Pariaman, Provinsi Sumatra Barat
The research was carried out from February to March 2024. The research location was in Taluak Village, Karan Aur Subdistrict, South Pariaman, West Sumatra Province. The aim of the research is to analyze the potential for marine ecotourism on Kata Pariaman Beach and analyze strategies for developing marine ecotourism on Kata Pariaman Beach to support sustainable tourism. The method used in the research is a survey method by direct observation in the field. The data required is secondary data and primary data. Secondary data was obtained from scientific literature studies or journals from several relevant sources. Primary data collection is carried out by collecting data directly in the field such as distributing questionnaires and interviews with respondents. The environmental parameters measured include the suitability matrix parameters for beach tourism in the recreation category and water quality parameters. Based on the results of the tourism suitability index (IKW), Kata Beach has entered the criteria to become a marine tourism destination. The calculation results of the average value show 91.6. This is of course the IkW value at Kata Beach which is in the very suitable category (S1) for use as a beach recreation tourism. The majority of respondents at Kata Beach agreed to develop a marine ecotourism area at Kata Beach. Business actors who said they strongly agreed were 91.11% (27 respondents), for local communities it was around 92.44% (29 respondents), for tourists it was around 89.9% (27 respondents), and for policy makers it was 79.9% (29 respondents)
