Analisis Kesehatan Hutan Mangrove Dan Karakteristik Sedimen Di Kawasan Mangrove Kelurahan Purnama, Kecamatan Dumai Barat, Kota Dumai, Provinsi Riau

This research has been carried out in January 2024, located in Purnama Village, Dumai City. The purpose of this study is to determine the health condition of mangroves, sediment characteristics, and the relationship between sediment characteristics and mangrove density. The method used is the survey method. There are five species of mangroves obtained in this study, including R. apiculata, R. mucronata, B. gymnorrhiza, X. granatum, and S. alba. The health condition of mangroves using the mangrove health index (MHI) formula as a whole got an average MHI value of 41.41%, which means that the MHI of Purnama Village is still in the medium category. The sediment characteristics found at the research station as a whole were dominated by sandy mud types, with the dominant sediment grain size being medium mud. The results of a simple linear regression test for the relationship between sediment grain size and mangrove density in Purnama Village, obtained a regression equation value of Y = 226.57X – 537.59, with a correlation coefficient r = 0.64 can be interpreted as sediment characteristics with mangrove density have a strong relationship.
