Efektivitas Karbon Aktif Terhadap Kualitas Parameter Di Proses Demineralized Plant Pada Activated Carbon Filter Vessel #1 Dan Vessel #2
The activated carbon filter process can remove organic compounds, odors, dyes, turbidity, and chlorine from water using porous carbon to absorb these substances. Saturated mass occurs when activated carbon has reached the absorption limit, which is determined by the throughput target by measuring the amount of water that has been treated, i.e. how much water has passed through the activated carbon media. This research focuses on the effectiveness of activated carbon in reducing the concentration of compounds that can be seen in the target throughput in the activated carbon filter process. The results obtained are, vessel #1 activated carbon effectively performs the absorption process at a throughput of 800 m3 to 1600 m3, while vessel #2 activated carbon effectively performs the absorption process at a throughput of 400 m3 to 1200 m3 with different absorption percentages for each parameter, namely in the permanganate number ranging from 30-40%, residual chlorine ranging between 98-100%, turbidity ranging from 65-80%, color ranging from 75-80% in vessel #1 and vessel #2.
