This research is in the background of the phenomenon of low student knowledge related to election smart houses, this is in line with the results of interviews with 10 Riau University students among the students, 5 of whom do not know what an election smart house is or the role of the election smart house. Therefore, the researcher is interested in conducting a research with the title Perception of University of Riau Students on the Role of the Election Smart House (RPP) in Pekanbaru City.
The formulation of the problem from this study is how the University of Riau students perceive the role of the Pekanbaru City Election Smart House (RPP). The purpose of this study is to find out the Perception of University of Riau Students Towards the Role of the Pekanbaru City Election Smart House (RPP). The benefits of this research are as input in implementing election smart houses both to the community and institutions and so that students can know the role of election smart houses.
The method of this research is quantitative with a descriptive survey method. The data collection instruments in this study are observation, questionnaire (questionnaire), interview and documentation. The population in this study is Riau university students who know and know the Election Smart House (RPP) which is 10 people per faculty using the Kouta Sampling Technique while the sample in the study is 100 students with the slovin formula.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that the role of election smart houses (RPP)
According to the perspective of Riau University Students on the Role of the Election Smart House (RPP) Pekanbaru City is in the category of "Very Role". This is
shown from the percentage of respondents who answered Very Role-playing amounting to 24.15% coupled with the result of the percentage of respondents who answered Role-playing amounting to 60.3%, which is the result of summing up 84.45% which is located in the range of 75.01%-100%. Thus it can it was concluded that the Perception of University of Riau Students Towards the Role of the Pekanbaru City Election Smart House (RPP) is in the Very Influential category.
