Analisis Penurunan Kadar Besi (Fe) Pada Air Gambut Menggunakan Cascade Aerator Berzeolit Dengan Variasi Massa Zeolit Dan Waktu Pengendapan
Peat water has a high Fe content. One of processing method to remove Fe levels in peat water is the aeration method using a cascade aerator. Aeration is the process of adding oxygen to water so that it can cause an Fe oxidation reaction which will form Fe(OH)3 precipitates. This research aims to analyze the ability of a zeolite cascade aerator to reduce Fe levels in peat water using variations in zeolite masses of 0.5 Kg, 1 Kg and 1.5 Kg and settling times of 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Then the gas transfer coefficient (KLa) value was calculated during the aeration process. The Fe content before the aeration process was 1,280 mg/L. The research results showed that the highest reduction in Fe levels occurred in a zeolite mass of 1.5 kg with a deposition time of 30 minutes with an efficiency of 82.10%. The highest gas transfer coefficient (KLa) value occurred at a zeolite mass of 1.5 Kg with a deposition time of 30 minutes, namely 0.0629/minute. The research results obtained have met the clean water quality standards according to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017.
