Densitas Penangkapan Ikan Terubuk (Tenualosa Macrura) Yang Didaratkan Di Desa Buruk Bakul Dan Desa Bukit Batu, Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Kabupaten Bengkalis
Terubuk fish (Tenualosa macrura) is a small pelagic fish and holds significant economic value for the communities around the Bengkalis Strait and it is also a symbol of Bengkalis Regency. The exploitation of terubuk fish, highly valued for its fish roe, has intensified in the Bengkalis Strait due to interest from both domestic and international fishers. This study aims to map terubuk fish density and to evaluate the fishery’s potential and assist fishermen in identifying productive fishing grounds. Conducted in the Bengkalis Strait which Buruk Bakul and Bukit Batu villages as fish landing. These villages have active fishing communities that catch terubuk fish yet do not have data on density or fishing ground where terubuk are caught. This research used observation and survey methods in data collection, employed GPS for tracking ship routes and gill nets for sample captures. Data were collected from January to April 2023, involving 8 gillnetters equipped with 6 GPS receivers to track their fishing activities. The largest haul of 48 terubuk fish was recorded at Bukit Batu. Using QGIS 3. software, fishing grounds and fish density were analyzed and visualized, revealing the highest density of 2,9 fish/km². The study concludes that Bukit Batu’s substantial catch is due to its larger fishing fleet, which allows for more extensive exploration of fishing areas.
