ABSTRACT

To maintain economic growth level, Sustainable Development Goals have become the main goal of many developing countries, including Indonesia. Social entrepreneurship is recognized as an economic entity with great potential to address economic and environmental problems. However, usaha sosial management in Indonesia is still not effective, including in Riau Province. This problem is caused by various faktors, the ability to manage a business is still minimal as well as a lack of entrepreneurial orientation and innovation from business managers. Therefore, the aim of this research is to conduct an analysis of the influence of social entrepreneurial orientation and managerial ability on the financial performance of social enterprises. In addition, this research adds the dimension of environmental performance as a mediator of financial performance. The research population involved social businesses operating in Riau Province, with various forms of business such as 275 waste banks and 566 health clinics. Respondent participation in this research was carried out through distributing questionnaires, with a total of 165 respondents representing the majority of the population. The results of data analysis using WarpPLS 7.0 show that social entrepreneurial orientation has a positive impact on the financial performance and environmental performance of usaha sosials. Apart from that, the mediating role of environmental performance also has a significant impact on the influence of social entrepreneurial orientation on financial performance. However, managerial ability does not have a positive effect on the financial performance and environmental performance of usaha sosials, and the role of environmental performance media does not have an impact on the influence of managerial ability on financial performance.
