Perancangan Pesawat Terbang Tanpa Awak Tipe Vertical Take Off Landing (Vtol) Quadplane Dengan Sistem Propulsi Tambahan Yang Bersifat Foldable
The additional propulsion system on the quadplane VTOL UAV will create drag during the mission. Based on these weaknesses, the VTOL quadplane UAV designed with additional foldable propulsion system. The design aims to produce a design, knowing the aerodynamic characteristics, structural strength, safety factors, requirements and power consumption the UAV. The design starts from determining the design requirements objectives and MTOW. Next, determine the airfoil candidate, calculate the wing and tail dimensions. Then create a fuselage design, calculate the aerodynamic characteristics airfoil and fuselage. Next is complete design of the airframe and foldable propulsion system mechanism. Then calculate aerodynamic characteristics, structural strength complete design the UAV using Ansys and calculate requirements and power consumption. The UAV successfully designed with MTOW value is 4,2 kg and 1,6 m wingspan using NACA 6412 airfoil. The calculation of aerodynamic characteristics design complete UAV in cruise mode when VTOL arms are folded has smaller drag coefficient value is 0,1153 compared to when VTOL arms are open with a drag coefficient value is 0,1329. Calculation of the strength UAV structure when taking off, maximum deflection value on the wing is 29,351 mm, a maximum stress is 0,9241 Mpa and a minimum safety factor value is 15. In the VTOL arm the maximum deflection is 8,4036 mm, the maximum stress is 20,753 Mpa and the minimum safety factor value is 3,6247. Calculation the strength UAV structure during cruising mode, a maximum deflection value on the wing is 255,07 mm, a maximum stress is 13,35 Mpa and a minimum safety factor value is 5,6345. Calculation of power requirements and energy consumption in the UAV being able to fly for 30 minutes at 14 m/s using a battery with 10,1856 mAh capacity and 150.7471 Wh power consumption.
