Karakteristik Morfologi Udang Galah (Macrobrachium Rosenbergii Dacqueti) Di Sungai Liong Dan Sungai Sebauk, Pulau Bengkalis
Giant prawns can be found in rivers located on Bengkalis Island, such as the Liong River and the Sebauk River, where both rivers have mangrove forests whose existence is continuously diminishing. In addition, the two rivers have several differences in river characteristics and water conditions, such as river position, river length, salinity, and water clarity. The difference is suspected to cause variations in the morphological characteristics of the giant river prawn. This study aims to compare the morphological characteristics of male and female giant river prawns from the Liong River and between male and female giant river prawns from the Sebauk River, Bengkalis Island. This research uses a survey method with a sampling technique of 10 individuals from each river, consisting of 5 males and 5 females, obtained from fishermen, and water parameters are measured in-situ. The observed characters include morphometric and meristic characters. Morphometric character data were tested using the t-test. (independent). The research results show that male giant prawns from the Liong River and the Sebauk River have significant differences (P0.05).
Key findings: Meristics, morphometrics, river characteristics, water parameters.
