Potensi Timbulan Dan Komposisi Sampah Dari Aktivitas Keramba Jaring Apung di Waduk Koto Panjang Provinsi Riau
The Koto Panjang Hydropower Reservoir continues to experience an increase in the number of cages and human resources. This increase resulted in various activities having an impact on the amount of waste generated from various activities. Waste that is not managed properly will have a bad impact on decreasing the quality of reservoir water. This study aims to determine the potential generation and composition of the waste produced. This research was conducted in May 2024 using a direct survey method in the field. From the measurement results, it is known that the highest waste generation was found in the first week, namely 1.4 kg/unit/week of waste with an average volume of 4.6 liters/unit/week. Meanwhile, the lowest average waste generation was found in the 2nd week with an average waste generation of 1.1 kg/unit/week with an average waste volume of 3.3 liters/unit/week. The highest average waste composition is dominated by inorganic waste at 52% (plastic 37%, plastic bottles at 11%, plastic beverage cups at 2%, cans at 1%, Styrofoam at 1%) and the lowest waste composition at 48% (food waste at 38%, egg board at 3%, paper at 5%, cardboard at 2%). The quality of the water in the reservoir is still in the quality standard category even though it has been polluted by garbage.
