Hubungan Rasio Lingkar Pinggang Panggul dengan Derajat Nyeri Pasien Nyeri Punggung Bawah di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common complaints that bring people to seek medical attention. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported in 2017 that LBP ranks second as a global cause of disability. According to PERDOSNI (2016), the prevalence of LBP in Indonesia is 35.86% of all pain- related visits. Central obesity has been shown to contribute to the development of LBP. The Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR) is an anthropometric measurement used to assess the presence of central obesity. The proportion of central obesity in Indonesia has continued to rise through 2018. This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design that analyzes several characteristics and the relationship between WHR and pain severity in LBP patients at Neurology Polyclinic Arifin Achmad General Hospital of Riau Province. Data were collected through guided interviews using structured questionnaires, the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and WHR measurements. The sample, consisting of 68 patients, was selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the majority of LBP patients were aged 41-60 years (51.5%), female (67.6%), with a lower-middle income (61.8%), non-smokers (75.0%), central obesity (55.9%), and had a severe pain (47.1%). A significant relationship was found between WHR category and pain intensity in LBP patients, with a p-value <
0.001 (p < 0.05) and an Odds Ratio of 18.20 (95% CI 5.07 – 65.23).
