Hyperlipidemia is a condition with an increase in lipids in the blood plasma. This condition is a risk factor for several cardiovascular diseases and causes obesity. Seri fruit (Muntingia calabura) contains flavonoids, anthocyanins, phenolic acids, polyphenols, saponins, and tannins and vitamin C which are antioxidants and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to determine the effect of Seri fruit extract on LDL (low density lipoprotein) levels in male Rattus norvegicus Wistar strain rats induced by a high-fat diet. This study was an experimental study with a post-test only with control group design. There were 18 rats divided into 3 treatment groups, the standard group, the group given a high-fat diet of 20 mg/kgBW, and the group given a high-fat diet of 20 mg/kgBW plus 100 mg/kgBW seri fruit extract. The study was conducted for 8 weeks with acclimatization of experimental animals for 2 weeks and daily treatment for 6 weeks. Blood sampling from the rat’s heart was carried out after termination.
