Hubungan Minat Terhadap Partisipasi Pekebun Kelapa Sawit Dalam Mengikuti Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (Ispo) Di Gapoktan Manunggal Sakti
ABSTRACT
Oil palm plantations have a bad impact on the environment, especially on agricultural development, not only in the agricultural sector that feels the impact, other sectors also feel the consequences of the oil palm plantation business, one example of the impact is such as reduced water availability due to land conversion to widespread oil palm plantations, and also pollution caused by the existence of oil palm processing plants. This study aims to analyze the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on the interest and participation of smallholders in following Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification. ISPO certification is a strategic effort by the government to encourage sustainable and environmentally friendly oil palm cultivation practices. The research was conducted in Sialang Sakti Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency, involving 60 respondents who are members of Gapoktan Manunggal Sakti. Primary data were collected through a survey using a questionnaire, while secondary data were obtained from relevant agencies. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman Rank correlation. The results showed that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control have a positive and significant relationship with smallholders' interest in following ISPO certification, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.681; 0.745; and 0.844 (p < 0.01), respectively. Smallholder interest also showed a significant relationship with the level of participation, with a correlation coefficient of 0.727 (p < 0.01). This finding indicates that interest is a key variable in bridging the influence of psychological and social factors on smallholder involvement in the certification program. Therefore, raising awareness, community-based counseling, and strengthening technical and social capacity are strategic recommendations to increase smallholder participation in ISPO.
