Penggunaan beberapa pestisida nabati untuk mengendalikan hama Cylas formicarius L pada umbi ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas L) di penyimpanan
The objective of the research was to find the botanical pesticide for controlling sweet potato weevil in example Cylas formicarius in the storage. Dominant pest has been attaking sweet potato tuber is a C. Formicarius, at potato crop or at potato in the storage. The experiment were arranged in Completely Randomized Design with five treatmens: without pesticide, juicy tuber leaf (Pachyrhizus erosus), neem leaf (Azadirachta indica), the sweet flag rhizome (Acorus calamus), greater galingale rhizome (Kaemferia galangal) and five replication. This experiment conducted in Plant Pest Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty at Riau University started from January to April 2008. The parameters which been observed are the adult initial death (day), the adult mortality percentage everyday/glass jar (%), the cumulative mortality percentage of adult/glass jar (%), the Lethal Time 50% (hours), sum of egg in the tuber (egg), total of hole at the tuber surface (hole/tuber/glass jar). Each of botanical pesticide powder to insert in plastic bag 0,25 kg size that has holed and every plastic bag contents one gram botanical pesticide. The results research that the aplication of pesticide treatmen juicy tuber leaf powder, neem leaf powder, the sweet flag rhizome powder, and greater galingale rhizome powder with the treatment of 1 g/kg tuber can controlling the sweet potato weevil (Cylas formicarius) in the sweet potato tuber at the storage. The neem leaf pesticide is more effective killing C. formicarius pest mortality at the storage compared to the using of the other botanical pesticide treatment. It’s shown at parameter the cumulative mortality percentage is reach 70,00% at adult, the sum of egg at tuber only 8 egg/jar and the total of hole at the tuber surface is 604,40 hole/tuber/jar. Key words: Cylas formicarius, sweet potato tuber, botanical pesticide
