Aswin Agussalim. In general, a company existence aims at getting profit as huge
as possible. This can be achieved thru a positive management system. There are
many variables to support an affective management, such as, finance, information
technology, etc. However, the most important thing is the quality of safety, health
and working environment. One that can bee seen from the implementation of
health, safety and environment (HSE) system in a company is the establishment of
its fundamental policy and sets of which they refers to. HSE practices are many
influenced by leaders in the company. How the leaders drive their organization to
reach the company’s main goals, but stay focus on HSE enforcement to protect
their employees.
The objectives of this research are to understand leadership accountability in
Facility Operation Heavy Oil of PT CPI and the influence of the leadership
accountability toward the HSE implementation within this working unit.
Formulation of problem is how both objectives are confirmed thru analysis. The
approach analysis applied for this research is qualitative and quantitative while the
hypothesis is confirmed thru correlation and simple regression test with statistical
parameter. The instrument of data collection in this research is in the form of
questionnare that is spread to 116 respondents. The quantitative analysis for this
research is product moment correlation by using SPSS 14 for Windows
The research result confirms that the leadership accountability in Facility
Operation of PT CPI presents a positive of HSE enforcement for its employees.
The leadership accountability here combines transactional and transformational,
plus challenges the organization to achieve a world class performance. All HSE
company’s policies indicate concerns and cares of employees HSE protections.
The leaders understand their accountabilities and the impacts as well as the results
of their decisions. On data analysis tabulation is obtained: Test t indicates that
value of constant coefficient is 26.940 with t count, 7.489, and significant value,
0.000. Variable coefficient of leadership accountability is 0.380 with t count, 7370
and significant value, 0.0. It can be then concluded that the variable of leadership
accountability positively and significantly influences toward HSE in work unit of
Facility Operation of PT CPI.
