Pengaruh Konsep Diri Terhadap Prestasi Akademik Mahasiswa Tahun Pertama Fakultas Kedokteran Universitasriau Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012

Self concept affects the individual's perspective. For students, the perspective
about themselft migh also affects their academic achievement. This research had an
aim to analyze the correlation of self concept on academic achievement of the first
year students of Medical Faculty of Riau University. This research used analitycal
methode with cross sectional approaching. There are 117 medical students of Riau
University batch 2011, but only 106 respondents fulfiled the inclusion criterion. Self
concept was measured by using questionnaire modification which build based on
some theories. Academic of achievements were measured based on grade point
average (GPA). The result show there are low and non-significant correlation of self
concept on academic achievement (r=0,153 and p=0,117). It can be conclude that
self concept has a weak correlation on academic achievement of first year students
Medical Faculty of Riau University.
