Sintesis Biodiesel Menggunakan Katalis Yang Bersumber Dari Cangkang Kerang Darah (Anadara Granosa)
The waste of shell blood cockles (Anadara granosa) can be used as heterogeneous catalyst of biodiesel production. The calcinations of shell blood cockles (Anadara granosa) as a catalyst in biodiesel production was done at temperature of 700, 800 and 900 °C for 3 h. The kind of mineral that was contained in catalyst were calcite, portlandite and lime that identificated by X-ray diffraction. The surface area of catalyst calcinated 800 °C was 25,369 m2/g and 900 °C was 23,825 m2/g that was measured by methylen blue method. The optimum synthesized using catalyst of biodiesel was used catalyst of calcinated 800°C, 100 g oil, with amount of catalyst was 4 g, temperature of reaction was 60 ± 2 °C, ratio mol of oil:methanol was 1:6 and time of reaction was 3 h is 85,87%. Biodiesel produced have water content 0,027%, density 875 kg/m3, viscosity 3,39 mm2/s, flash point 190ºC, residu of carbon 0,039%, acid number 0,161 mg KOH/g, soap number 194,45 mg KOH/g, iod number 62,16 g-I2/100g and cetane number 60,39.
Key words: Shell blood cockles, heterogeneous catalyst, transesterification, biodiesel
